From live music to culinary events, historic sites to dance parties—it’s a celebration of all the things that make Alberta a great place to live—it’s Alberta Culture Days!
Winter is coming (and thanks to Game of Thrones, that phrase will never be usable again) but we know that in Alberta…actually, winter is always coming. Alberta Culture Days presents an excellent opportunity to pack up the kids, call up your friends and enjoy all the arts and culture that our province has to offer before the snow flies and we plunge headlong into the winter festivals!
So…why should you go? Well…here are three reasons:
Fifty plus official celebration sites from foothills to forests:
There are four, three-day ‘feature’ celebration sites and 48 other celebration sites hosting cool, one or two-day events this year. There’s likely one near you so be sure to check out the complete list of Alberta Culture Days celebration sites and plan accordingly.
If visiting a lot of Alberta communities is on your travel bucket list…use the Alberta Culture Calendar:
This is your one-stop-shop for Culture Days events across the province. The calendar searches all Culture Days events by municipality and there’s even an app for that! That’s right… there’s a free Alberta Culture Days Calendar app for iOS, so you can find events while you’re on the go. ….
Have you been meaning to visit one of Alberta’s amazing historic sites or museums?
Well… there’s no better time because all provincial historic sites and museums normally open this time of year will have free admission (some activities may have additional fees so please check each site for details). For example…it’ll be the last time Alberta Culture Days will be held at the Glenora site at the Royal Alberta Museum so it’s a good opportunity for one more visit!
This is all happening this weekend! Share your experiences and follow along on social media.
Alberta Culture Days runs from this Friday, September 25 to Sunday, September 27—so there’s still time to use the event calendar to start making your plans.
Follow Alberta Culture and Tourism on Twitter and follow on Facebook for highlights throughout the weekend. Don’t forget to let us know how your weekend went by using #ABCultureDays on your posts as well!
