Cars, music, and food; Vintage Day’s got it all!

Drive back in time

Experience Alberta’s history by driving back in time with a special display of classic vehicles, motorcycles and tractors at the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village’s Vintage Day event.

From a rumble seat coupe to vintage tractors, car enthusiasts and collectors are invited to participate in this annual show and shine just 25 minutes east of Edmonton.

Returning this year: Live music

The Kalyna Voice singing competition finals are back this year with finalists performing their favourite vintage song. Commencing at 10 a.m. in the Village courtyard, this year’s finalists include singers from Edmonton, Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Mundare, Ranfurly, Lamont, Fort Saskatchewan, Vegreville,  and Onoway.  This event is proudly co-hosted with Kalyna Country Ecomuseum.

Swing dancing

It’s groovy moves with Swing Out Edmonton, whose dancers have a love of swing-era dancing and want to share it with you! You can take a break from admiring vehicles and swing by to see some toe-tapping dancing.

New this year:

Edmonton Int’l Raceway (EIR) will be part of the fun and will be showcasing two of their NASCAR vehicles in addition to the opportunity to meet with some of their professional drivers.  (EIR) in Wetaskiwin is Western Canada’s ONLY NASCAR Sanctioned Race Track.

Visitors can also try their hand at chess, with the Roving ChessNuts hosting a fun scholastic tournament starting at 11 a.m. Prizes and ribbons are available for the winners.

Family fun

Step back in time and explore the historical village with costumed role-players and free horse drawn wagon rides. Other activities include a Poker Run, musical entertainment, Village market, food concession, and more! Early risers can help support the Friends of the Ukrainian Village Society by attending their pancake breakfast from 9-11 a.m.
